The owners had a plan to open up the area but wanted to keep the existing flat style while making use of the existing brick walls too.
Our design consultant made use of the existing theme, he suggested a raised flat option, this would create some extra height and allow more light to filter into the home.
To give the new patio a modern appeal that will last for years to come the owners went with the Bondor Solarspan insulated roofing. This gives the new patio a clean finish and much more in line with a ceiling.
The colours needed to also have to be soft with the remaining home to be repainted to match. The patio is finished in Colorbond Dune frame, gutters and Surfmist roof.
With the design, colours, the roofing all coming together the finishing touch was to ensure it kept some of the original feelings from the past.
The use of Merbau posts creates a soft contrast against the steel and also ensures that part of its past remains.
The owners are wrapped with their new patio and are looking forward to finishing up the renovation on the outside of their home to match their new modern patio.
