What do you do when you have big boy toys and the ordinary carport is just not going to cut it?
Well, you just have to go bigger too and that’s what the owner of this home in Ocean Reef went with.
Height was the critical detail in this build with access to the rear of the property required to ensure there were no foul-ups.
Adding to the difficulty level was the tapper in the boundary at the rear of the property that we needed to make adjustments for in the design.
The initial meeting with our design consultant had the owner feeling comfortable as our experience and knowledge with the design along with the shire processes made them feel at ease.
The design was to be a hipend gable from the front and to be gable at the rear to suit the tapered boundary. To do this we designed the gable to face the boundary in order to follow the boundary line.
The post extensions allow for maximum space and maneuverability while also allowing for ample space for the area to used as a secondary entertaining space.
Working with the shire and the owners on this project allowed us to ensure that the final result was what the owner wanted while still maintaining the conditions of the shires requirements.
The new carport is in and the owners love it. It still serves a purpose and looks great, yet can be used as another space for entertaining family and friends if required.
