The owners of this home in the Perth suburb of Duncraig wanted to update their entertaining area, it felt a bit dated and was in need of a makeover.
There was a mish-mash of existing dome patios, a flat patio and a timber pergola, all of which really had no flow from one area to the next.
To help create this new space the gable design was chosen and to have them side by side with the larger of gables over the existing deck and the other to follow the paved path over a window.
The side flat patio was replaced with another flat patio but to create the continuous look the roof profile of C-dek was used and now the flat to the two gables all flow with a matching roof finish.
Just this change alone has refreshed the area and created that sense of space that the owners were after.
The old timber pergola was replaced with a gable patio and now will be used as an extension of the carport.
While we were making the changes it was suggested by our design consultant to replace the existing house guttering and downpipes.
By replacing the guttering on the home it not only looks new but also ensures that any rusted sections of the old system or blocked downpipes are removed keeping the stormwater moving and not spilling out into the patio area.
To ensure that the patios and replacement gutters matched the home the same Colorbond colours were used throughout.
These colours are Woodland Grey frame, gutters and downpipes both on the patios and home. The C-dek sheeting is double sided Surfmist with Diffused Ice polycarbonate skylights.
The new look patios have certainly enhanced the view from the decked area to the pool and will be a great place to sit and relax in the fantastic Perth summer days.
